Affiliate Disclosure

Plain-English version of how this site makes money — and the line we will not cross.
How this site is funded
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and sign up or make a purchase, we may earn a commission — at no additional cost to you. We only feature services we would recommend regardless of any commission, and an affiliate relationship never influences our editorial recommendations or the facts in our guides. The official government route is always presented first and is always the cheapest.
Our promise
- Government first. Every guide leads with the official route and the official, lowest cost. Any paid service is presented as an optional convenience, never as the only way.
- No pay-to-rank. Companies cannot pay to be featured, to be ranked higher, or to change a fact in our guides.
- Only what we'd recommend anyway. We list a service only if we'd point a friend to it regardless of commission.
- Clearly marked. Affiliate links are tagged
rel="sponsored nofollow"and are labeled where they appear, so you always know what you're clicking.
What we recommend, and why
Relocating involves a handful of predictable needs — filing your US taxes from abroad, moving money internationally, meeting a visa's health insurance requirement, getting connectivity on arrival. Where a guide touches one of those, we point to services that solve it. Some of those links earn us a commission; the recommendation is the same either way.
Not professional advice
Recommending a tax preparer or insurer is not tax, legal, or financial advice. Your situation is yours alone — confirm details with the provider and a licensed professional before you commit. See our Terms & Disclaimer for the full picture.
